As a skeptical potential viewer, I have some questions…
WHY WATCH? WHAT ABOUT THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO MAKE ME PUT MY PHONE DOWN FOR 97 MINUTES?
Cabin. Thriller. Twists. Sleep Deprivation. Psychological Torture. F***ing Good Time.
If any of that sounds appealing, you're in for a treat.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT THAN THE MYRIAD OF OTHER DOG SHIT INDEPENDENT FILMS OUT THERE?
We started the process with a very specific goal: To make a horror movie with some real substance to it. Scary, creepy, exciting, but with some depth. We wanted to create a really cool, substantive psychological thriller that was a hell of a lot of fun to watch and then was even better upon second viewing. Lofty aspirations, yes but:
We had a cool location, a great script, talented young actors, a camera and some sound gear, and (almost) no money. But having been inspired by the likes of true DIY greats like Robert Rodriguez and Ed Burns, we set out to achieve our goal.
HOW'D THE FILM GET MADE?
We filmed 90 pages of script in 7.5 days, with 10 actors and a 3(ish) man crew at a cabin in the woods!
We filmed 15 more pages in 2 other days six months later in the dead of winter (actually -30 C) with a bunch of (amazing) extras!
We filmed the remaining 15 pages sporadically to finish this sucker up.
We filmed on Canon 5d Mk II with beautiful lenses.
Edited on Final Cut.
The script was written by movie fanatic brothers John and Neil Webb.
The movie was directed, edited, produced by Neil Webb.
We had professional Audio Mix, Score, and Sound Design done by Alec Harrison and the talented folks at Six Degrees Music/Sound.
We had professional Color Grading by PlainSight Pictures.
We have a wicked awesome soundtrack featuring Canadian bands “Go for the Eyes” and “the Naturals”
We had an all Canadian cast of great young actors who have since done a bunch of impressive/awesome work on TV and in Films.

ON BOARD YEt? IF SO WATCH NOW!

BUT HERE'S THE REAL QUESTION…WHY NOT WATCH SOMETHING ELSE? REALLY?
Here are the facts. We watch movies. That’s what we do. We also make movies. We want to make movies that we want to watch. Simple. Lastly, we’re a tough audience to please, as we expect you all to be as discerning film viewers.
Here are some of the movies that we watch most often…If this list resembles your list…chances are you’ll get a kick out of Double Booked.
- Fight Club
- Pulp Fiction
- In Bruges
- The Departed
- The Shining
- Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels/Snatch.
- Out of Sight
- The Usual Suspects
- Gangs of New York
- The Usual Suspects
- American History X
- El Mariachi/Desperado/Once Upon a Time in Mexico
WHAT'S THIS 'DOUBLE BOOKED' ABOUT THEN?
Group of friends have their cabin vacation disrupted when a second couple show up claiming they have the place booked. Turns out they peripherally know each other through friends, so they all decide to stay. Bad plan. Their fates are intertwined by a bit more than simply being double booked at a cabin.
COOL PLOT…BUT WHAT'S IT REALLY ABOUT THOUGH?
It’s a story about people being forced to face the truth about who they really are, and come to terms with the past and the things they've done. Most people spend their whole lives avoiding this topic. When everything else is stripped away, that’s all we have: who we are, what we’ve done, and how we deal with it. This was the seed out of which Double Booked grew. So we put a group of friends into isolation who have all contributed to a tragic event, let’s take away everything, and force them to stay awake. Double Booked is the story of how a group of friends must deal with this situation, each other, and themselves.
ALRIGHT. I'M SOLD!
Thank you Skeptical potential viewer for allowing me to explain things thoroughly. You will love it!
